Understanding the human being from an integrative, holistic perspective motivates us to investigate in which way our brain is linked to our thoughts, to our feelings, as well as to our behavior.
Therefore, our research aims to increase the understanding of basic emotional, as well as cognitive processes and their link to behavior and biology in humans (basis research).
Furthermore we aim to explore the development of human beings from early childhood into late adolescence with its diverse influencing biological, psychological and social factors (developmental research approach).
By combining different methodologies and approaches and further translating them into the clinical setting, we aim to investigate diverse neurobiological-based treatments to bridge the gap from theory and basic research to fruitful and modern therapeutic interventions (translational, clinical, neuroscience research).
